Water restrictions went into effect for the City of Lubbock last Friday, now that warm and windy weather is on the way.

Watering is allowed between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. Water restrictions run from April 1st to September 30th each year, and are designed to minimize water lost to evaporation.

Exceptions are allowed for newly planted grass or landscaping, soaker hoses, and watering by hand, and watering is allowed two days per week with up to one and a half inches of water for each area of the yard.

To report violations, call the City's Water Hotline at 775-3952.
