Warm and Dry Conditions To Continue For Lubbock and the South Plains
It might be fall but the temperatures aren't adjusting to the new season. And rain that was at least in the forecast is now being taken out according to the latest from the National Weather Service. So what is going on?
Where is the Fall Cool Down?
To be fair, temperatures are slightly cooler than what we saw in July and August. While we are seeing temperatures hit the upper 80's and low 90's at times, triple digit heat looks like it could be in the rearview mirror. However on Monday, temperatures could get close as Monday's high is expected to be around 97 in Lubbock.
While we enjoy the idea of fall in Texas, a real cool down doesn't typically happen until October. Even in October we are likely to have a couple of warm days. So don't put away the shorts and tshirts just yet. Warm and dry weather is here for at least a few more weeks. Even the South Plains Fair can't bring about a good chance of rain according to the National Weather Service.
The Good News? Lubbock Will Eventually Cool-Down
As we get into October, Lubbock and the South Plains will cool down, However, some long range forecasts say this fall will be slightly warmer than normal. So plan for that.
