Wednesday on Lubbock's First News, Lyndee Groce of the National MS Society gave details on how to participate in the upcoming MS Walk fundraiser that will benefit those living with multiple sclerosis.

The MS Walk will be held Saturday, May 3, at the Jones AT&T Stadium. Participants can walk one mile or a 5K. The location will open at 9 a.m. and the walk will begin at 10 a.m. Individuals or teams are encourage to participate by creating fundraising goal for at least $100 or making a donation. The event will also include a kids area, vendor expo, and silent auction. Funds raised through this event will be used to fund research and to offer support for individuals with MS.

Groce said, "[For] every dollar that's donated, 78 cents of that dollar goes back to helping those with MS." The National MS Society also works to connect individuals with MS to create support communities and to provide professional education and other services, such as licensed therapists and financial assistance. In Lubbock County, there are over 300 MS patients registered with the Society.
