Visitation and Memorial Service Details Announced for Luke Siegel
Friday night, Tim Siegel, the father of Luke Siegel released information concerning the visitation and public memorial service for Luke.
Luke Siegel passed away on Thursday, August 19, after recently battling respiratory issues related to COVID pneumonia and suffering the effects of a traumatic brain injury six years ago in 2015.
A public visitation will be held Friday, August 27 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers in Lubbock. Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers is located at 6025 82nd Street, near 82nd Street and Iola Avenue.
The memorial service for Luke Siegel will be held Saturday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Texas Tech's United Supermarkets Arena. A private burial will follow the memorial service.
Tim Siegel is a former tennis coach for Texas Tech University and he left collegiate coaching to care for his son after his injury. He, and his family, also worked to found the Team Luke for Hope Foundation in the aftermath of Luke's injury.
The Team Luke for Hope Foundation released their own statement on Friday, "It is with sad and heavy hearts we officially address the Team Luke Hope for Minds community after the passing of our beloved friend and hero, Luke Siegel.
"The outpouring of love, prayer and support over the last several days has been overwhelming, and a testament to the incredible impact Luke made on the world.
"Please help us continue to lift up Tim, Jenny and the whole Siegel family as they grieve, by celebrating the legacy Luke has left behind.
"Please share photos and testimonies of Luke Siegel on your social media and tag @TeamLukeHopeforMinds. Many have done so already, and we thank you. We hope the kindness being spread on his behalf will help bring a little joy to the laden, broken hearts."
Tim Siegel also wrote on Friday night, "Our family appreciates the outpouring of love and support. The pain I feel is indescribable, but there is comfort because of each one of you. Thank you, Tim."
