Truth In Accounting’s Overview of Texas [INTERVIEW]

Sheila Weinberg, founder and CEO of the organization Truth in Accounting joined The Chad Hasty Show on Monday to talk about their release of the annual Financial State of Texas. Truth in Accounting is aiding citizens in staying informed of government finances.

Asked by Hasty about Texas' financial situation, Weinberg said,

If each taxpayer wants to send eighty three hundred dollars to the capitol to clean up their current bills, we're doing fine.

Weinberg continued,

Well, that's the debt that we've figured out that they've accumulated in relation to, especially their pensions and retiree health care benefits that they've hidden off their balance sheet also.

Truth in Accounting aims to educate the public of all states in keeping track of debt and spending in an easy to understand language.
