Game Themes Announced for 2026 Texas Tech Football Season

It's finally here! We get to see what each game theme will be for the upcoming football season at Jones Stadium.

Texas Tech 2026 Season Home Game Themes

Texas Tech will kick off their seven home games with a Big 12 Celebration as a part of their starting theme. What does that mean?... I don't know! But putting those three words together sure sounds exciting doesn't it?

September 26 is when we get serious. This is when the Red Raiders will host Sam Houston State, and what better theme for West Texas than agriculture?

That's right, the Agriculture Game is an annual event that highlights the crops and livestock that are crucial to Texas Tech and the South Plains. As a partnership between the athletics department and Davis College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, select judging teams will also be among those honored during the game against Sam Houston State.

October Home Game Themes

The Red Raiders host Arizona State on October 17, and what better theme for this game is there than Homecoming! While everyone brings their schnookums to the Jones, Texas Tech will also recognize their amazing energy partners for the third year in a row on this weekend with their Celebrate Energy promotion.

For the spooky-scary Halloween matchup on October 31 when Texas Tech hosts Arizona, they picked the scariest theme of them all: Red Raider Club Appreciation. Ahh! It's too scary!

Before you hide under your covers, this theme is meant to thank those who support and make an impact towards the Red Raider Club each and every day. Members will receive in-game recognitions along with special events throughout that weekend.

Texas Tech November Football Game Themes

The last two home games of the regular season start with a matchup between Texas Tech and West Virginia on November 7. This game theme is about celebrating America.

It's a long tradition for Texas Tech as they take a home game to honor those who have fought to protect our freedoms that we hold here in this great country. The university will also be recognizing each branch of the military and those who have served or are currently serving.

Finally, the November 26 theme against TCU is Senior Day. It's a Thanksgiving extravaganza as this football game will be dedicated to sending off the senior class with an on-field ceremony featuring head coach Joey McGuire and his family.

Texas Tech 2026 Season Schedule

Texas Tech kicks off this season with a home game against Abilene Christian on September 5. Season tickets are sold out, but single game tickets are still available.
