Train-Vehicle Crash in Plainview Leaves One with Serious Injuries
The driver of a pick-up truck suffered serious injuries after a train-vehicle crash on Friday, August 27th in Plainview, Texas.
According to the City of Plainview, the collision happened at approximately 2:19 p.m. at the rail-road crossing at FM 400, located in the 600 block of South Date Street. When authorities arrived, they found a black Chevrolet pick-up with extensive damage and the train stopped, blocking traffic across Date Street.
Crews were able to get the driver out of the vehicle and take him to Covenant Hospital in Plainview. No other injuries were reported.
City of Plainview Fire, Plainview EMS and the Plainview Police Department were involved in the incident. The Texas Department of Public Safety and BNSF Railroad personnel are investigating the incident.
