A top Texas fugitive serving a sentence in a different county has been transferred to Lubbock to face manslaughter charges. KAMC news reported that 21-year-old Tanner Cole Lermon was transferred to the Lubbock County Detention Center, November 30th, for a murder trial.

Lermon had an active warrant and was wanted in connection to a 2020 rollover incident that killed 29-year-old Haley Erin Steele in South Lubbock. Lermon was added to the Texas Department of Public Safety's Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitive list back in early June and is reportedly affiliated with the Crips gang. Lermon was arrested in Hudspeth County in August of 2022 and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Lermon was transferred into the custody of the Texas Department of Public Safety after his initial capture before receiving his current sentencing. Lermon is serving a 15-year sentence at the Sanchez State Jail for Aggravated Robbery but still had an active warrant from Lubbock. Lermon is said to have been intoxicated before the crash that led to the death of Haley Steele in Lubbock.

Lermon remains in the custody of the Lubbock County Detention Center, as per the publishing of this article, on a $70,000 bond. Due to him serving time in a different county for a different crime Lermon and awaiting the trail he is unable to be released even if the bond is posted.
