Last week, local police discovered three dogs left locked inside a home in northeast Lubbock. According to KAMC News, Lubbock police officers found the dogs on Friday in the 300 block of Beech Avenue and determined they had been abandoned there for at least a week with no food, water, or air conditioning.

The police report further detailed that the former tenant of the home was evicted sometime around July 16th. Inside, officers found three dogs in poor condition: a male, female, and a puppy.

The dogs were reportedly locked in a room for up to a week and were discovered thin and overheated. Lubbock Animal Control Services have since removed the dogs from the home to be medically evaluated and treated. There is no official word if the city will seek charges against the former tenant.
