Thursday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, The Car Pro Jerry Reynolds joined Dave and Matt to talk about his test drive of the week, as well as other auto industry news.

This week The Car Pro was test driving the 2021 Honda Ridgeline Sport, which has been completely redesigned for 2021, with the last redesign being 3 years prior. Jerry started the discussion by saying that Honda has been high quality for many years, always building good cars, but that their styling eventually lagged behind the competition. However, in the past few years, they have stepped it up and have been hard to recognize as Honda because they look so good, such as this unusual Honda pickup truck, which has been able to retain the quality of a Honda and even add some nice features.

This model is the new Honda Performance Development package, which Jerry suspects is made to compete with Toyota's Research and Development package. The truck is all wheel drive, has a 3.5 liter 6 cylinder engine which is very efficient, gets 25 miles to the gallon on the highway, and can tow up to 5,000 lbs., with a cargo capacity of over 1,500 lbs., the highest of the midsized trucks. Despite being a midsized truck, the Ridgeline has a much roomier interior than its competitors, has very comfortable seats, and drives much like a car, leading Jerry to say, "This truck is really the most comfortable to drive, especially when you're driving in town." The truck also has several cool features. One such feature is a lockable trunk inside the bed of the pickup that has 7 cubic feet of cargo area area, and has a drain plug so that it can be used as an ice chest. Another feature is the tailgate, which, in addition to opening down like normal, can also be opened to the side which Jerry says is very useful for loading. The 2021 Honda Ridgeline Sport has a window sticker price of $40,000.

The Car Pro also talked about some stories on his website carprousa.com. One such story is on April being Car Care Month, which Jerry says is very important. He explains that people need to take care of their cars if they want to get good millage out of it, and says that it will save you money in the end. Another story will come out later today, and is Jerry's special used car report about pricing and what is happening in the market. Jerry says that he has never seen anything like it, and will cite some specific examples where used cars are being sold at auctions for exorbitant prices.
