Thursday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, The Car Pro Jerry Reynolds joined Matt Martin and fill-in host Steve Evans to talk about his test drive of the week, as well as other auto industry news.

This week The Car Pro was test driving the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Duramax Diesel, the first half ton diesel truck that Chevy has produced. Jerry explained that the truck has an inline 6 cylinder engine with a turbocharger, and went on to say,

This thing is really a performer. It's so quiet, you know. People, if they haven't looked at diesel in a while, and they still have that mindset of they're slow, they're loud, they smoke, you know? Those days are gone. I mean, you'd never know this truck was a diesel from the inside or the outside.

Jerry went on to say that the truck doesn't have the strongest towing power of all the options on the market, but is by far the leader in fuel economy, getting 33 miles to the gallon on the highway. Jerry also thinks that the car is priced well, at $48,000, which was by far the least expensive of the 3 main diesel trucks that Jerry has reviewed.
