Thursday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin the Car Pro Jerry Reynolds joined Dave and Matt to talk about his test drive of the week in the 2018 Chevy Silverado Duramax 4x4, as well as a heat warning for the summer time and other auto industry news.

Jerry started his discussion about the truck by talking about the size of the vehicle, saying

"This is a big truck. I don't mind telling you. It could not be a daily driver for me. You notice it when you go to park and when you go to make a U-turn or when you make a tight turn. But there's a lot of people towing and hauling things that have to have a truck with this kind of capacity."

Jerry explained that the truck will tow 14,500 pounds with the normal hitch and even more with a 5th wheel. Jerry's main complaint with the vehicle is that it has low end torque so when you're not towing anything, it's a bit of a rough ride. The sticker price is $72,000.

Jerry also gave another warning of the dangers of how quickly cars can heat up, especially during the summertime. Jerry explained that in just 10 minutes, the inside of a car can get 19 degrees hotter than the ambient outside temperature, creating temperatures that could easily kill a human being, especially a child.
