The Texas Tech Red Raiders beat Southern twice this week to sweep the quick midweek series and move to 8-1 overall this season.

Texas Tech is now a perfect 6-0 at home while outscoring their opponents 88-16. The Red Raiders beat Southern 13-2 and 10-3 in back-to-back days.

The starting pitching this week stayed strong with great performances from Mason Montgomery and Hunter Dobbins. Montgomery pitched five complete innings, allowing six baserunners, but zero runs. He struck out seven. Dobbins also hit the five complete inning mark, but gave up two runs while striking out a career-high 10 batters.

The bullpen was strong as well, allowing just three runs over eight innings of work.

Offensively, the hot stayed hot for Texas Tech, with Dylan Nuese going 5-8 in the series and knocking in several runs. Nate Rombach hit another three-run home run and had four RBIs in the series. Brian Klein warmed up too going 4-6 with four runs and four RBI across the two-game set.

Next up for Texas Tech is a trip to Florida, where they'll play Florida Atlantic once and 12th-ranked Florida State twice.
