News sprung Tuesday that Texas Tech running back Da'Leon Ward was arrested due to an outstanding warrant during a routine traffic stop. Now, not even 24 hours later, the charges have been completely dropped.

The swift judgement that followed the news, now completely unwarranted, affected the reputation of a young man who has been praised time and again by this coaching staff as hard working and improving.

The news of the charges being cleared broke on Twitter with Tray Payne, Ward's attorney, breaking the news himself:

Of course, this dismissal opens a host of other questions, including why was the warrant still outstanding?

More information will come out with time, but Da'Leon Ward's reputation took a huge hit yesterday. Any answers that come out can't repair that damage, but it's great news that Ward won't even miss a day of practice due to the apparent SNAFU.
