Dr. Kevin Crawford has been designated as the medical director and head orthopedic physician for Texas Tech Athletics. Dr. Crawford has been associated with the athletics department for five years and is a partner with Lubbock Sports Medicine.

The Lubbock native will oversee and organize various healthcare providers, trainers, and specialists as they work with Tech athletes. He received his degree and completed his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical branch in Dallas. He’s also been deemed a “Super Doctor” by Texas Monthly Magazine. He hold professional memberships with the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Texas Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, Arthroscopy Association of North America and the Hawkings Society.

He was a team physician for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard team, a team doctor for Justin Sportsmedicine and the medical director for the  Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Masters of Athletics Training Program. He also provides sports medical services to area high schools.
