Texas Tech has a lot of history in the Super Bowl. They were represented in the first one and have had big moments in the big game throughout the history of the NFL. Now, for more than a decade, the Red Raiders have owned the biggest stage of them all.

For the 12th straight season, a Red Raider will be participating in the Super Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes will be in his second straight after leading the Kansas City Chiefs to the promised land for the second straight season. Super Bowl LV will be played in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers on February 7th, 2021.

This 12-year run to the Super Bowl is the longest streak in school history for Texas Tech University. In the past 11 years, Texas Tech players are 6-5, with Danny Amendola and Patrick Mahomes providing the biggest impact to their respective teams during that stretch.

The streak started back in Super Bowl XLIV (2010) with Keyunta Dawson and the Colts losing to the New Orleans Saints. Then, Graham Harrell and the Packers won the next one. Wes Welker and the Patriots dropped the next one to the Giants. In the infamous Harbaugh bowl, both Michael Crabtree and Darcel McBath represented the 49ers in a loss to the Ravens.

After that, three Red Raiders lost to the Seahawks, while members of the Denver Broncos including Wes Welker, Manny Ramirez and Louis Vasquez. Danny Amendola and the Patriots would win in 2015 and the Broncos would return and capture the crown in 2016, but the only remaining Red Raider was Louis Vasquez.

Danny Amendola, LaAdrian Waddle and the Patriots would comeback against the Falcons in 2017 and lose to the Eagles in 2018. Waddle would return in 2019 for Tom Brady's last run in New England with a win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Finally, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are the 11th and 12th representatives on the list. That's 11 different Red Raiders in 12 straight Super Bowls.
