Texas Tech has announced that football season ticket sales have broken a record.

Tech has announced that it has surpassed its school record for season ticket sales with just under five months to go before the start of the college football season.

So far, 34,100 season tickets have been sold for 2014, surpassing the previous school record of 32,227 sold in 2010.

The University says that the record season ticket sales this early in the year likely means that individual game tickets will not be made available for purchase, which would be another first in the history of the Texas Tech football program.

If another 4,500 season tickets are sold, Jones AT&T Stadium will be sold out for the entire season.

The overall capacity of the stadium is 60,454, and around 21,000 seats are set aside for Texas Tech students, fans of the visiting team, and Tech athletic department use.

The Red Raider football team will play Central Arkansas, Arkansas, West Virginia, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas at Jones AT&T Stadium in the upcoming season.
