
Texas Tech Basketball Picked 7th In Big 12 Preseason Poll
Texas Tech Basketball will tip-off a new season in November and fans of Texas Tech basketball are starting to get excited about what this season could bring for the Red Raiders.
Yesterday, it was revealed that Texas Tech was picked to finish 7th in the Big 12 out of 16 teams. Last season, Texas Tech was picked to finish 8th and finished in a tie for 3rd in the Big 12. But this season, the Big 12 has gotten deeper and better. Many say that the Big 12 is the elite conference for college basketball, and the Red Raiders will have a chance to prove themselves this season. According to a press release, here's how the head coaches in the Big 12 had the preseason rankings:

- Houston (5) - 211
- Iowa State (1) - 194
- Baylor - 185
- Arizona (1) - 179
- Cincinnati - 140
- Texas Tech - 135
- K-State - 133
- BYU - 116
- TCU - 90
- UCF - 83
- Arizona State - 64
- West Virginia - 62
- Oklahoma State - 46
- Colorado - 37
- Utah – 30
While Texas Tech will tip-off its season on November 5, they will open Big 12 play against UCF on December 31 at the United Supermarkets arena. Single game tickets for Texas Tech men's basketball will be made available on Monday, October 14. These will be for home games only.
This will be Head Coach Grant McCasland's second season leading the Red Raiders and after a third place Big 12 finish last season, fans are once again excited about the future of Texas Tech basketball.
