Thursday afternoon, Texas Tech Athletics released updated information concerning parking for Red Raider Basketball games.
Most of the information matches up with maps previous posted on the TexasTech.com website. The S1 Parking Lot at 10th Street and the Texas Tech Parkway is now the only free parking available for Red Raider Basketball games. In addition, the ADA Parking has also been moved to the S1 Parking Lot (peach colored on the attached map).
The three lots closest to the United Supermarkets Arena have been changed into paid/Donor Parking and each lot has its own specific entrance, as noted on the map (Yellow, Green and Purple lots).
Red Raider Basketball's first home games of the 2017-18 season are: November 10 against South Alabama with an 8pm tip-off and November 14 vs Maine with a 7pm tip-off.
Additional explanation from Texas Tech Athletics:
For all men’s basketball games, the S1 Parking Lot at the John Walker Soccer Complex will be the lone free parking lot for all fans to include ADA parking.
A free shuttle service will begin 75 minutes prior to tipoff and run up to 60 minutes following the game to transport fans to and from the United Supermarkets Arena. Buses are ADA accessible. There is no longer free parking in the West Lot across from the United Supermarkets Arena. Again, the only free parking area will be in the S1 Parking Lot next to the John Walker Soccer Complex.
Traffic patterns also will change for the upcoming season. All patrons with North Lot passes must enter the lot from the Main and Flint intersection. All fans with South Lot passes must enter the lot from the 18th and Flint intersection. All West Lot pass holders must enter at the Texas Tech Parkway and Knoxville Avenue intersection. All vehicles will be blocked from entering Indiana Avenue off of the Texas Tech Parkway.
