The Texas Tech football team locked in two more secondary pieces for the 2019 season in Zech McPearson a grad transfer from Penn State and Dequanteous Watts a first-year commit from Atlanta, Georgia.

McPhearson is a former 4-star prospect from Maryland committed to Penn State over Alabama, Clemson, Cal, Ohio State, Michigan State and more. The 5'11'' DB played mostly corner in his time at Penn State and appeared in all 13 games for the Nittany Lions. He will have 2 years of eligibility and can play immediately.

Also committing to Texas Tech is 3-star DB Dequan Watts who is an incoming freshman from Atlanta, Georgia. Watts signed with Texas Tech over Louisville, USF and South Carolina. Watts comes in at 6'2" and 165 pounds with plenty of room to fill out his frame.

You can expect several more additions to the Texas Tech team between now and game one in September. The team will max out its allotment of scholarships trying to find guys that fit the new culture and can be immediate impact pieces as well as depth pieces to fit the new schemes.
