A fugitive from Texas wanted for aggravated sexual assault has been arrested thanks to an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip. As a result, the tipster will receive the cash reward of up to $5,000.

Herbert Lee Souvenir Captured in Texas

According to a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) press release, a multi-agency effort responded to a Crime Stoppers tip revealing information on 47-year-old Herbert Lee Souvenir. Souvenir was located and arrested on April 17, 2026, at a residence in southern San Antonio.

Souvenir had been wanted out of Guadalupe County since January 2026 for sexual assault, but his criminal history goes further back.

In 1998, Souvenir was convicted of aggravated sexual assault of an 8-year-old child. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison as a result. In March 2022, he was convicted of assaulting and injuring a family member, followed by burglary of a habitation just months later. This led to 8 years of probation.

 Because Souvenir's arrest was a result of a Crime Stoppers tip, the cash reward of up to $5,000 from Texas DPS will be paid.

How to Submit a Crime Stoppers Tip in Texas

Texas Crime Stoppers was first formed in 1981 and is intended for gathering public assistance with preventing and solving crime. One way in which this is done is by submitting anonymous online tips about wanted fugitives across the state for cash rewards.

In order to be eligible for a cash reward tied to any of Texas' most wanted, you must follow one of three steps:

  • Submit a tip through the DPS website by clicking the link under the fugitive about whom you have information
  • Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477)
  • Submit a tip on the Texas Most Wanted Facebook page
