You know what they say: everything is bigger in Texas. And that includes our babies.

Last Friday, Janet Johnson and Michael Brown of Longview, Texas became the proud parents of a 16-pound, two feet tall newborn. Baby JaMichael Brown is the biggest baby to ever be born in the Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, and could possibly be the biggest baby ever born in Texas.

To give you an idea of just how big this "little guy" is, the average newborn weighs about 7.5 pounds. JaMichael is over twice that size, about the size of a 6-month-old child.

According to the doctors, the mother suffered from gestational diabetes, which can result in bigger birth weights for newborns. But I don't think anyone was expecting the baby to be this big. In any case, congratulations to the parents on their really big bundle of joy.
