Thursday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, The Car Pro Jerry Reynolds joined Dave and Matt to talk about his test drive of the week, as well as other auto industry news.

This week The Car Pro was test driving the all new 2022 Kia Carnival. Jerry started the discussion by saying that there is no mistake that this thing is a minivan, with its sliding doors, but that Kia has gone to great lengths to keep people from calling it a minivan, opting instead for a "multi-purpose vehicle." The car has a nice black and burnt orange interior, and an interesting blue exterior. The Carnival also has some nice features, including 2nd row captains chairs that lean all the way back, a button that you can hit to allow the driver to speak to the 3rd row seat through a speaker, as well as a camera that allows the driver to see the 3rd row seat, DVD players, 2 moon roofs, sunshades you can pull up, and more. The car is all electric, and has a nice drive. Jerry compared the Carnival to the Toyota Sienna and pointed out some differences, where the Sienna went with fuel economy and Toyota making it a hybrid, and the Carnival going for horsepower, having almost 300 horses and getting 25 miles to the gallon in town. The Carnival is also cheaper, coming in at $47,000 which Jerry says puts it under the price of similar vehicles.

They really really knocked this one out of the park.

Reynolds also talked about his website carprousa.com, where this week he talked about the average transaction price for new cars in America hitting an all time high of $42,258, the chip shortage, and the lack of incentives on cars.
