On Tuesday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Senator Ted Cruz (R) joined the broadcast to talk about issues in the tightly contested race with challenger Robert "Beto" O'Rourke (D) for the U.S. Senate.

Cruz and Hasty discussed the positions and agenda of O'Rourke and the Democratic Party, including impeaching President Trump, border security, Constitutional freedoms, as well as the state and national media's infatuation with O'Rourke, and much more.

About his opponent's position on border security, Cruz said,

Beto O'Rourke has proposed decriminalizing crossing the border illegally. In other words, make it no longer a crime. Which would mean that the caravan marching north through Mexico, if Beto O'Rourke's policy view were to prevail, they would be allowed to march right across the Rio Grande, straight into Texas. Over ten thousand people, and there would be no criminal offense whatsoever. That is radical, that's reckless, and that's not Texas. We want to secure the border. And lets be clear: We can do that while welcoming and celebrating legal immigrants.

While answering Hasty's question about the media's response to Cruz's call for answers as to how O'Rourke would handle the northbound caravan, Cruz said,

The national media is so in love with Beto O'Rourke, they crawl into bed and they spoon with him. Their hearts, their little hearts go 'pitter-patter'...There is nothing the national media would like more than for Texas to be represented by an Elizabeth Warren-type leftist. And Beto O'Rourke is running to the left of Elizabeth Warren.
