Is Ted Cruz At Risk Of Losing His Texas Senate Seat?
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas is one of the most outspoken conservatives in the U.S. Senate and if recent polling is accurate, he is fighting for his political career in 2024.
Up until recent weeks, the Senate race between Representative Colin Allred and Senator Ted Cruz has been largely quiet. But now more money is flowing into the Allred campaign and polling has begun to get tighter between Cruz and Allred.
This week the Cook Political Report shifted the race slightly in the Democrats direction according to The Hill. Though the designation is still lean red and Cruz still leads in most polls, though the lead isn't as big as he or other Republicans would like to see.

Cruz is still favored to win re-election, but with polling tightening and more money flooding in for Allred, there is a chance that there could be an upset in Texas according to The Hill.
The polls suggest Cruz still has the edge, but the incumbent has struggled to cross the 50-percent mark, which observers say spells trouble for him. Most analysts believe the race will come down to the 6 percent of self-described “undecided” voters seen in the Emerson polling.
In 2018, Democrat Beto O'Rourke came within 3 percentage points of defeating Cruz. Allred is hoping that his coalition of Democrats and Republicans who dislike both Donald Trump and Ted Cruz can propel him to the Senate.
But Texas remains a Republican majority state and for Cruz, turn out will be key.
