Texas Teacher Tells 14-Year-Old He Wants to Kiss Her, Charged with Child Grooming

A band teacher was recently arrested and charged with child grooming after text messages sent from his phone to a teenage student were discovered. The disturbing messages revealed that the 60-year-old teacher had strong feelings for her, despite her being only 14 years old.

Inappropriate Texas Teacher Gets Schooled

According to Everything Lubbock, Ropes ISD recently discovered that a teacher of theirs, Scott David Strobel, 60, was building a highly inappropriate romantic relationship with one of his students, despite it seemingly staying one-sided.

You see, a 14-year-old girl who happened to be in Strobel's band class showed her father some text messages from Strobel that were highly disturbing. Court records revealed that one message from 60-year-old Strobel read, "I'm not going to lie, I have thought about kissing you at times."

Other messages Strobel sent to the teen were just as flirtatious. One revealed that he cared so much for her that he didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. Other messages revealed how Strobel fantasizes staring into her eyes and touching her back.

What Happened After He was Caught?

Officers took Strobel to the police station for questioning where he admitted to sending the messages. He also agreed that they were inappropriate as he was fully aware the girl was only 14 years old.

Strobel was arrested by the Wolfforth Police Department on March 15, one day after Ropes ISD was notified of the text messages. Although taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center, Strobel posted his $25,000 bond and was released shortly after.
