This morning D1Baseball announced their choices for their preseason All-American teams, and there was one Red Raider that was announced as a first team All-American pitcher.

Steven Gingery is raking in the preseason accolades as that makes his third different first team award so far. Gingery was also recognized by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper in December and Perfect Game two weeks ago and is also the only Big 12 pitcher to receive first team accolades. His teammate John McMillon was also recognized by the CB newspaper as a second team utility player.

Gingery tallied a 10-1 record last season with a 1.58 ERA in over 91 innings of work for Texas Tech. He struck out 107 batters, allowed 29 walks, and held opponents to a .186 batting average. Opening day for the Red Raiders will be at 2:00 central on February 16th against the Maine Blackbears at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
