On Saturday, March 26 from Noon to 2 p.m., SS Outfitters and Texas Law Shield will host a class about active shooter situations and how you can take steps to survive such an ordeal. Whether it's an active shooter in the mall, or at a restaurant, there are different steps you can take to not be a victim. The class will be held for free at SS Outfitters, Highway 114 near Levellend.

This class is free on Saturday and you will get to hear from law enforcement professionals who are trained to handle these types of situations. And these classes can give you more information about how to handle these life-threatening scenarios according to the event's Facebook page.

“Active shooter” is a common phrase in the news these days. It is horrible we must be prepared for these types of events, but it is a reality of the world we live in today.
