A shootout in southwest Lubbock left neighbors stunned over the weekend as one person was killed and at least two were injured at a party.

Fatal Shooting In Southwest Lubbock Sunday Morning

According to KAMC, Lubbock Police were initially called out to party late Saturday just before midnight in the 5500 block of 76th Street. Neighbors complained about noise coming from the party. Less than 45 minutes later, neighbors were left in shock as the sound of gunshots echoed throughout the neighborhood.

KAMC reports that one person, 20-year-old Deon Lilly was killed in the shootout that left at least two others injured. The report also said that an 18-year-old and a minor were injured during the shooting. As of Sunday morning, Lubbock Police had not reported any arrests in connection with the shootout.

Neighbors Post Audio of Shootout on Social Media

Neighbors who had been awakened or were outside themselves posted audio of gunshots that could be heard in the area. The audio left neighbors stunned and has gone viral across Texas.

The Facebook page LBK Scanner Squad first posted about the shooting on social media. At least one person posted video from his ring camera with the audio of the shooting nearby.

The party was allegedly held at an Airbnb home in southwest Lubbock. Airbnb has banned parties at rental homes officially, but once a home is booked, there isn't much Airbnb can do to prevent a party from actually happening.

Some cities have cracked down on vacation rental homes due to out of control parties.

The investigation is ongoing.
