The amount of refund a member (electric customer) would receive would be determined by multiple factors, including whether or not the co-op member was customer in the following years: 2016, 2005, 2004, 1980 and 1979.

SPEC noted that if a member's refund is less than $10, a credit would be applied to their current bill. The credit would be applied to a member's September bill and those receiving checks are supposed to receive them this month.

SPEC's service area includes parts of the City of Lubbock, and Lubbock County not covered by Lubbock Power & Light, parts of Hale, Crosby and Hockley counties, then stretching south and east to cover parts of Dickens, King, Cottle, Childress, Hardeman, Foard, Stonewall, Kent and Garza counties.

SPEC members with questions about the capital credit refund can call SPEC at 806-775-7732 during regular business hours.
