The elementary schools are two of five elementary schools in the growing Lubbock-Cooper ISD. The entire district in 2019 started a one-to-one iPad initiative. According to the press release from Lubbock-Cooper, the educators use Apple technology to provide engaging learning experiences to students.

This recognition can be credited to the exceptional and groundbreaking methods our teachers and students consistently refine, with the unwavering support and encouragement of the district and the broader community. The selection of Lubbock-Cooper East Elementary and Lubbock-Cooper South Elementary as Apple Distinguished Schools highlights their success in creating innovative and compelling learning environments that engage students and provide tangible evidence of academic achievement. Our educators continue to explore ways to utilize Apple technologies to provide personalized, engaging learning experiences for all students. We strive to give students more choice and voice in their learning by providing flexible assignments that allow for creativity. We aspire to improve student goal-setting and publish more authentic learning to share with the community. We hope to inspire other educators by sharing our experiences and look forward to learning and growing from future connections with other Apple Distinguished Schools.
