The snowfall in Midland, TX this winter has outpaced many northern cities.  Counting yesterday's 10.6 inches of snow; Midland has received over 19 inches of snow since December 1.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Ryan Barnes says the total is more than three times what Buffalo has received (5.5 inches). Another northern outpost, Duluth, Minnesota, has seen only 8.3 inches this winter.

Additionally, just 3.1 inches have fallen in Fargo, North Dakota. The total is even lower in Chicago at 1.9 inches.

The snow may not help the drought-ravaged region. The weather service says yesterday's total in Midland translates to less than an inch of rain.
