State lawmakers didn't pass a ban on texting while driving during the legislative session. That doesn't mean the debate is over though, especially here locally. Mayor Glen Robertson and the Lubbock City Council are reportedly thinking about addressing the issue. The Mayor is on the record as support a city ban on texting while driving. Councilman Jim Gerlt brought up the idea last year so it's safe to say he supports a ban.
