As we look towards severe weather season, the debate over tornado sirens will continue. Even among the members of the Lubbock City Council there is debate whether or not the city needs sirens. Those who argue against sirens point to new technology and warning systems. They say sirens are outdated and don't work. Supporters of sirens point to Oklahoma and other areas of the country that do have sirens as examples that they do work. Supporters also remind people that cell phone towers could fail if a storm were to hit Lubbock.

No warning system is perfect, but the debate continues on sirens in Lubbock. What do you think?
