Saturday morning, Lubbock county officials announced a change with an early voting location for the county. The Shallowater Community Center (900 Avenue H, Shallowater) is closed for today, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, after an election worker tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Lubbock County Judge Curtis Parrish, the early voting location in Shallowater will undergo a Level 2 cleaning and be re-opened to the public on Monday, October 26 at 8am. It is scheduled to be open for Early Voting on Monday from 8am-8pm.

Early voting for the Lubbock County General and Special Elections continues through Friday, October 30, 2020.  Election Day is November 3, 2020.  Go to for more information, including all early voting times and locations in Lubbock County.

On Friday, another 4,418 voters participated in early voting in Lubbock County.  Through 12 days of early voting, 72,105 ballots have already been cast in Lubbock County. Back in 2016, 71,918 ballots were cast in total for Early Voting, with a total turnout of 93,891 votes.

2012's total turnout was 87,992 votes, with 62,541 cast during early voting. 2008's total turnout was 92,238 with 69,608 ballots cast early, and 2004's total turnout in Lubbock County was 90,461 voters with 55,356 ballots cast during early voting.
