The Lubbock Police Department's Special Victims Unit is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating the suspects involved in a sexual assault.

According to a release from LPD, it all happened the morning of Wednesday, June 9th in the 1900 block of East Brown Street.

Investigators say that the 18-year-old victim arrived home the night before at around 11 p.m. A bit later, it's said she went outside to her backyard to search for her pet and noticed the 2 suspects burglarizing a shed in the backyard. The 2 suspects then allegedly approached the victim and sexually assaulted her.

The 2 suspects are believed to be Hispanic men with black hair and brown eyes. One of them had a tattoo no his neck. They're both estimated to be in their mid to late 20's.

An LPD sketch artists released the photos which you can see above, detailing roughly what the victim described the suspects as appearing. These sketches weren't released to the public until Friday, June 18th

Both suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction before officers could arrive. This investigation is on-going.
