Scott Braddock, Editor of Quorum Report, joined The Chad Hasty Show on Thursday to discuss the latest debates and movements regarding property tax reform and school finance. Braddock also discussed whether or not any of the proposals that are moving contain major "relief" for tax payers.

Braddock discussed a vote yesterday out of the Senate Education Committee. The committee voted out House Bill 3, the school finance bill, over the objection of Senator Paul Bettencourt who came out vocally against the bill at the time. Earlier in the day on Wednesday, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick had tweeted that the bill would be moved out of committee. According to Braddock, members didn't have time to fully read the bill and left blank the funding mechanisms.

Braddock also discussed the various ideas being put forward to bring relief to property tax owners. According to Braddock, no idea brought forward so far would deliver major relief. Braddock applauded Rep. Dustin Burrows for managing expectations on his property tax reform bill.
