Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, Quorum Report editor Scott Braddock joined the program to discuss the latest news from the 86th Texas Legislature.

Among the many topics discussed were education funding, school vouchers and what voters may expect in that arena this session, committee assignments, as well as some of the storied relationships in the legislature, and where that continued stress may have continued and major effects.

While talking about public education funding and the issue of school vouchers, Braddock said,

School vouchers are a no-go this session.

Braddock and Hasty also talked about the Texas Tech veterinary school and how behind-the-scenes relationships and assignments may affect that budget. "A lot of drama, and can be a lot of fireworks. But where they actually write the budget is in the conference committee, behind closed doors," said Braddock.
