Scott Braddock Describes Serious Fighting Within Texas GOP [INTERVIEW]
Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, Scott Braddock, editor of QuorumReport.com, joined the program to talk about the latest news from the state capitol.
Braddock and Hasty discussed the bickering and infighting taking place in the Texas Republican Party and the positioning taking place for primary election runs, as well as the slow progress taking place on the issue of election integrity and winterizing the electrical power grid in the state.
During the discussion about the state of the Texas GOP, Braddock said,
This is not Republican versus Democrats, or conservatives versus liberals, this is GOP on GOP 'violence'. They're very frustrated with each other over a variety of issues...The fact that you have Republicans suing Republicans, that's not something that I've seen before...The next Republican primary could be Allen West versus Governor Abbott, and Sid Miller versus Dan Patrick. Stay tuned.
While talking about election integrity legislation and SB-7, Braddock said,
This is one of those things that's been designated a priority by the governor. I would expect at least some version of 'election integrity' to pass. of course the base of the Republican Party is convinced that there was some problem, some malfeasance with the count of the vote in 2020, and so Republican office holders feel that they need to do something about that to placate that base.
