S.W.A.T. Called for Domestic Dispute in Central Lubbock
A S.W.A.T. incident in Central Lubbock on Saturday, October 2nd, ended with an arrest.
The Lubbock Police Department responded to a home in the area of 30th Street and Avenue X around 3:20 a.m. for a domestic dispute. Reports say a man, identified as Wolton Wormly, and his common-law wife were inside the residence. When officers arrived at the scene, Wormly barricaded himself inside the home, which resulted in the S.W.A.T. team being called.
After a five hour standoff, authorities were able to arrest Wormly around 8:30 a.m. without incident. At some point during the standoff, the woman was able to escape the residence and she was taken to University Medical Center with moderate to severe injuries from an assault.
It was learned that Wormly also had outstanding warrants.
An investigation is ongoing.
