A favorite regional horse track is denying allegations of stalling horses at the start of races in 2010.

Ruidoso Downs is denying that horses were purposely held at the start of the 2010 All American Futurity won by Mr. Piloto.

General Manager Shaun Hubbard said, “We have looked at the video tape of the 2010 All American Futurity from every angle many times in recent days and can see no evidence of any horse being held or denied a fair start.”

The charges stem from an FBI affidavit charging that money laundering by members of the Los Zetas drug cartel through quarter horse racing.

Tremor Enterprises, the owner of Mr. Piloto, is alleged to be a front for the Zetas in the United States.

The affidavit also asserts that Mr. Piloto was given illegal performance enhancing substances 15 days prior to the 2010 race.
