Ruidoso Downs Racetrack & Casino Early Opening and Summer Events

Friday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, the President and GM of Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Casino joined Dave and Matt to talk about their early opening and summer events.

Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico is a racetrack and casino that has had extensive upgrades and renovations over the past year. True said that people will see it from the new Ruidoso Downs' street sign and that it will continue to the All American Turf Club and the Billy The Kid Casino. True then spoke on some of their upcoming events.

The venue is opening 2 weeks earlier than its usual opening date, starting on May 10th and running through September 2nd. True explained that even before that they will have celebrations for the Kentucky Derby. On Saturday, May 4th, the venue is having a Derby Party where they will put down money for you on a horse to be donated to the charity of your choice. They will also have a derby hat contest, prizes, and more.

Other upcoming events include the Memorial Day Weekend event on May 24-27th where they will have a flag ceremony and special racing, as well as the Red Raider Weekend on June 28-30th where they will have Kody West and the Dirty River Boys as well as an appearance by the Masked Raider. "The West Texas Crew is welcome up on the mountain anytime," Jeff said.
