Memorial Day weekend is normally a busy weekend for the mountain town of Ruidoso, New Mexico but this weekend may look a little different.

Restaurants throughout New Mexico are closed for dine-in services though to-go orders are still be taken by many. That rule isn't supposed to change until June.

For Ruidoso, the coronavirus restrictions also mean no fans at Ruidoso Downs on a weekend that typically brings large crowds to races. But the lack of crowds won't stop the horses from running. According to RaceRuidoso.com, Ruidoso Downs will begin it's Summer schedule Friday, May 22nd with trials for the first leg of the Quarter Horse Triple Crown- the Ruidoso Futurity and Derby.

Even though fans won't be in the stands they can still watch online. No date has been set for when fans can get back to the races.
