Wednesday on The Chad Hasty Show, Press Secretary for the RNC Blair Ellis joined Chad to discuss many issues in the news.

Ellis and Hasty talked about the extreme leftward moves and rhetoric recently displayed by candidates from the DNC, the economy under President Trump, and the many recent calls by those on the left to abolish the United States Electoral College.

During the interview Blair said,

If you were to abolish the Electoral College tomorrow, we'd only ever see candidates camp out in some of those states like New York or California or Florida in order to run up their popular vote totals. The Electoral College really forces them, it requires them to move around the country, especially to the smaller states who have a handful of votes that can check the balance. And it makes sure that our candidates are aware of issues that matter in different states. The issues that matter [to states like] California or Florida are going to be really different from issues that matter for people in North Dakota, in New Hampshire, Iowa, and Nevada. So that's why really we've got to keep the Electoral College in place. It's kind of anti-democratic to suggest otherwise.
