Tuesday on The Chad Hasty Show political strategist Matt Mackowiak joined the show to discuss the inauguration festivities in Austin, issues on tap for the Texas legislature, including education funding, the ongoing partial federal government shutdown, and more.

While speaking about the Republican tactics in dealing with the partial shutdown of the federal government, Mackowiak said,

I'm frustrated because I don't think [the Republicans] are doing what they need to do to win this battle. I feel like every day they need to be driving the news, making Democrats explain why they've supported far more, in border security funding, anytime in the last ten years than they're willing to support now that Trump's president.
