On Friday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Texas House District 68 Representative Drew Springer joined the broadcast to talk about all the latest from the 85th Texas Legislature in Austin.

Springer and Hasty discussed the marathon House session yesterday, and Springer provided a progress report on legislation and the many amendments being offered, including pro-life, budget and school choice legislation.

While speaking about the pro-life legislation being debated, Springer said,

There are cities [in Texas] that are giving $1 leases to Planned Parenthood to be able to provide abortions year-round, and we're going to put an end to that.

Springer also talked about the sparring that took place yesterday in the House, between himself and District 92 Representative Jonathan Stickland, regarding de-funding of feral hogs abatement. Springer said,

I'm not going to see people attack rural Texas and use us as a game on the House floor. And so I sent a loud and meaningful message last night that I'm not going to stand for it...If we're going to look to cut government, you need to look at your own district before you start looking into rural Texas districts.
