Wednesday on The Chad Hasty Show, Representative Mayes Middleton (Texas District 23) joined the program to discuss the catastrophe that bar owners have previously undergone and continue to face under Governor Greg Abbott's executive orders, and the uncertainty of what will and will not be allowed in the future.

Middleton said,

Small business is the backbone of any community. We've got to protect people's right to make a living and provide for their families. We've got the TABC threatening them with shut-downs and revoking their license to operate. I just talked to one the other day...they had to lay off 51 people, and those are 51 people that they had just rehired, they were just getting back on their feet...At the end of the day, we've got to stand up for people's right to make a living and feed their family.
