Public Meeting on 34th Street Reconstruction Project Addresses Indiana to Avenue Q

A public meeting is scheduled Thursday evening to discuss the 34^th Street reconstruction project that will be affecting 34^th between Indiana Avenue and Avenue Q starting early next year. The meeting will be held in the gymnasium of the Sunset Church of Christ’s Family Life Center, located at 3631 34^th Street. The session will have information about the construction schedule and work sequence of the 34^th Street project, which is expected to begin in February. Plans will be available for viewing. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Local businesses say they're preparing for the major renovation, which will completely redo streets, curbs and sidewalks along the out-dated street. Although a temporary slow in business is inevitable, many business owners say the construction will be worth it in the long run, and will make businesses along the street more appealing.
