Friends and colleagues of the late Judge Rusty Ladd recited the Pledge of Allegiance this morning in his courtroom. It’s a way of honoring the judge, who was fatally injured in a street accident Friday. The recitation of the pledge was a tradition in Judge Ladd’s court. He was riding his motorcycle to work when his bike was hit by an SUV at 17th and Bangor near his home. A memorial service for the judge is scheduled Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Broadway Church of Christ. The family has asked that any donations or gifts be made to Carpenters Church and the Lubbock Children’s Home.
