Police Investigate Lubbock Man Shot & Killed Overnight

One person was killed in a local shooting Friday morning, July 10, in Lubbock. According to a police report, officers were called at about 12:03 a.m. to an area near 42nd Street and Avenue Q.
A man now identified as 43-year-old Mederrick Harper was found with serious injuries related to a shooting. He was taken to University Medical Center for treatment but was later pronounced dead.
Police are now searching for a potential suspect driving a dark colored Chevy or a GMC truck with an extended cab.
